About the Speakers

The Hat Stand is a unique collaboration between three Sheffield-based milliners offering the people of Sheffield an annual pop-up hat shop. The aim of their first shop in May 2014 was to offer the first City Centre hat shop in a generation. Based in the beautiful surroundings of The Winter Garden, the project is now in its fourth year and will be returning in June 2017.

About the talk

Amanda, Siobhan and Sophie will share their stories of how they came to making hats and headwear, and how they have evolved as milliners. All three have come from very different working backgrounds with different ways into learning their skills. They will share the events that lead them into becoming milliners, what has inspired their work and how they came to be The Hat Stand; a key point for all three who were going under significant life transitions and needed to make some decisions.
